Coastguard teams from Swanage and St Albans along with Police and Ambulance crews were tasked to search the northern end of Studland beach last night for a person collapsed.
The Coastguard helicopter from Lee on Solent was also tasked to assist the search using its thermal camera.
The Coastguard teams were guided by the helicopter to the location and then they provided care to the 86 year old until the ambulance arrived.
Having been assessed the casualty was then carried out to the beach using a stretcher before being transported to the ambulance parked on the road.
Rescue 175 from Lee on Solent illuminated the area to allow Coastguard teams to treat the injured male.
