Hazard removed

The team were requested to investigate a large amount of rope discovered on the shore line under the Grand Hotel on Saturday afternoon.

The very low tide had uncovered a tangle of rope which was not only a hazard to boats and swimmers but also an environmental risk.

The tide was rising so the team cut away what they could and pulled the bulk of the rope away for collection by the local authority.

HM Coastguard is committed to ensuring our seas and coast line remain safe and pollution free and will assist in removing hazards.  In an emergency 999 Coastguard
