Dog and Owner Located safe

A fisherman returning from Blackers Hole called Coastguard after hearing a dog in a distressed state near to Belle Vue Farm.

Concerned the owner may have been injured or stuck somewhere, the National Maritime Operations Centre tasked the team to search the area.

Both Swanage RNLI lifeboats who were on exercise were tasked to search the cliff in case a climber was stuck. The St Albans Coastguard team were requested to assist in the search around Dancing Ledge.

Coastguard officers located the dog near to Spyway Barn and shortly after found the owner who had been out searching for their dog for over two hours.   With everyone confirmed safe all units were stood down.
