A True Hero

Photo from BBC

Every now and then a true hero comes along and today on his 100th birthday we salute Capt. Tom Moore for his amazing achievements and fund raising in the last month.

When the nation is in a strange place , Capt Tom has been an inspiration to us all so take a moment and wish him a Happy Birthday along with our support to all the key workers tonight.

Capt Tom is no stranger to Dorset having served at Bovington Camp as an instructor.

Stay safe  - Capt. Tom exercised around his property , please stay near your home to exercise.

To bring the blog up to date , now Colonel Moore.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday

Stay at Home

Colleagues down in Lyme Regis were called out yesterday along with two helicopters , two lifeboats and a warship searching for a missing leisure diver.

The pair had decided to dismiss advice and go out on the water when one of them became overdue sparking the search.

Thankfully the diver was located and brought ashore to be met by Dorset Police who fined the pair.

So please , question is your “exercise “ vital and near to your home?

What if something does happen what are the consequences- don’t stretch emergency services resources by being dismissive of the guidelines.

Don’t Stop , we need your help

We appreciate it’s been tough and we keep repeating ourselves but we really need you to stay  at home and exercise close to home.

We would ask people to think seriously about the unintended consequences of what would happen if something went wrong while they were in the sea or at the coast.

We urge people to give the coast a miss because we want to prevent our teams and their families being put at risk and putting pressure on the NHS.

Respect our community and stay at home , Dorset Police continue to do patrols in the area and that includes their marine section out on the water.

Do your bit - stay at home

Thank you to most who  are following the guidelines and staying  and exercising close to home.

Please do your bit to make this lockdown work and stay at home.

Working with our partner agencies the area is monitored and you should not be travelling by car to local beauty spots or the coast.

Don’t put the teams and NHS at risk.

Reported persons on Ballard

The team were paged this evening at 5pm  to a report of someone climbing on Ballard.

Due to the current restrictions the team deployed an initial team to investigate the report whilst the remaining members stood by to respond if required.

A visual check of the cliff was carried out and the informant called to confirm what was seen. After 30 minutes of searching nothing further was seen and no further reports were made.

Stretch you legs not our resources

Halfway through the long weekend we are still asking that you follow the guidelines.

Please keep going and stay in doors, exercising locally.

Stay at home

Despite asking ...... still we had reports of people climbing in the area ????!!!!!!

The message is simple.

Is your “exercise” putting others at risk , what happens if something goes wrong ?

We can’t ask much more.

Dorset Police are patrolling these areas and have already turned people around don’t let it be YOU.

#stay home and save lives

We really need YOUR help this weekend.

We need to help save lives and the simple way to do this is to stay home.

Please don’t go out unless it’s within the Government rules.

Boating and rock climbing are not exercise.

Driving to the beach or beauty spots is NOT essential.

A bit longer will help us all, don’t put you or the emergency services at risk.

Dorset Police will be patrolling - the area is closed.
