It's Boxing Day and demand on the emergency services is traditionally high.

Do you know when it's correct to call 999?

999 should only be used in an emergency. An emergency is when there is a danger to life or risk of injury being caused.

For the Police - When there is risk of getting injured, being threatened or a crime is being committed or the someone suspected of a crime is nearby. Non emergency 101

For the Coastguard - If you get into trouble . If you see someone or find yourself in difficulty at the coast. Non Emergency 01305 760439

For the Ambulance - Always call 999 if someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk. Non Emergency 111

For the Fire Service - there is a small fire, life is at risk, someone trapped. Non emergency 03067 990019

Please don't mis use these valuable services ..... It could be your life that depends on them.
